Today we have two pieces by Michael "Krayola Kidd" Torrance. These pieces continue my theme of the DC Heroes versus the old Universal Monsters. After having a discussion with Mike at the show, I think I have a good grasp on a similar theme with some Marvel characters.

Abbott and Costello Meet Young Frankenstein by Jay Fosgitt I had this idea that if Abbott and Costello were still able, they would have made this film in collaboration with Mel Brooks. I pitched this idea to Jay as a commission and he knocked it out of the park. He was able to add some digital filters to the piece to make it look like a frame from the opening credits if the film had been made. The other image I have posted is the original line art for the piece. I highly recommend Jay for commissions. He has a great style and will go the extra mile to give you what you want. Wow, I really haven't posted for a while. Where the heck did 2013 go? (Let's be clear, I'm glad it's gone. That was a rough year.) This piece is really special as it is just one part of a group commission piece. A bunch of my fellow art collectors got together and each picked out our own piece featuring DC Characters. The commissions were all done so they connected to form one giant piece of artwork. My piece is 2 out of of the 10 that make up the entire picture. The pencils by Darryl here are really tight. I would love to see this on a cover of an actual book from DC. I have a picture of the entire group commission piece over at my Comic
